Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is non-threatening disease and yet the government is setting up conditions for an outbreak here which, if it occurred, would entail the slaughter of vast numbers of animals, even healthy.

Farm animals are so important that in destroying them, the government would be destroying local independent farmers, local food economies, safe food, food security, and the very underpinning of a sustainable future for everyone.

To understand the threat, one might begin by looking at what happened when US Agribusiness triggered avian flu in Asia through spreading contaminated waste from their giant unregulated poultry factories onto fields and infecting birds. Projecting avian flu as a terrifying pandemic, they got Asian governments and their military to slaughter small farmers' private poultry stocks across Asia. Once the farmers' biodiversity in poultry was exterminated, Agribusiness/biotech substituted their own patented GE-poultry.

S 510, the Food Modernization Act arranges the same format. If the CDC declares a disease outbreak, DHS and the military would be called into to go onto farms to slaughter US farmers' animals in the millions. S 510 even includes plans for disposing of the carcasses.

The problem is that this is the same CDC which put out false numbers to the public about a mild swine flu. They generated terror in people and billions in sales (for vaccine manufacturers), and blocked a CBS investigation into their suspect claim of a huge numbers of swine flu cases.

So the same agency which got it (or made it) terribly wrong about one animal disease (swine flu), will be the agency to declare an animal disease outbreak here. And the CDC is not alone among "science" agencies with powerful corporate connections having trouble reporting accurately when it comes to disease and "emergencies."

Yet Shiv Chopra, microbiologist, veterinarian and Canadian food and drug safety expert says:

The bird and mammalian species took hold on the earth approximately 65 million years ago, i.e. the same time as the dinosaurs went extinct. So did the flu and other viruses of all the surviving species. Since then, all those viruses have been mating and mutating among themselves without the sky caving in due to any infection. Therefore, any talk of a bird or swine flu pandemic with the probability to kill millions of people is either a purposeful or hallucinogenic nonsense to make profit on the backs of the innocent following.

Even so, on the basis of a corporate word from the CDC, millions of animals would be exterminated.

The public needs to know that:

1. Right now, ranchers are worried about what the government is doing, and are trying to stop the USDA from bringing animals into the country from FMD-active countries, as well as to stop them from moving a dangerous lab into the middle of ranching country (it was a lab leak which caused FMD in the UK).

2. FMD is not a threatening disease.

3. Yet, under S 510, DHS and DOD would be authorized to go onto farms and ranches across the country and mass slaughter even healthy cattle, sheep, alpaca, llama, goats, and in the millions.

"The US Department of Agriculture says FMD mortality is usually less than 1% although higher death rates have been reported. The virology chief of the Israel CVO department told me last week that they routinely treat animals with the disease and they usually recover. "Only rarely" do they have to destroy afflicted animals. This is all rather academic actually as the current outbreak in the UK does of course come with 100% mortality for sheep that are even suspected of exposure, whether they have the disease or not. This also applies to Llamas, Alpacas, Bison and pet goats."--Jonathan Miller

4. This would be a bonanza to agribusiness/ biotech which have developed genetically engineered animals they allege are FMD resistant and which they would sell to farmers but "own" through patents (just what they did in Asia with poultry which they can do it to all poultry here as well ... and just as they did to seeds, with devastating effects).

"There are three aspects to the reaction of the FMD epidemic that make me terribly uneasy.

First, while it is clear that globalisation of trade and increased movement of animals has spread the disease, the UK government continues to support increased liberalisation of agricultural trade in the World Trade Organisation. The half million livestock being killed are a ritual sacrifice to the gods of global markets. Shutting the countryside down while keeping borders open to trade will not prevent spread of disease - either coming in through imports or going out through exports.

Second, the export obsession that is an intrinsic part of globalisation also leads to a blindness to the welfare of animals and farmers. Thousands of livestock can be annihilated, hundreds of farmers ruined to maintain the "vaccine free" status of exports. Neither the farmers nor farm animals count in the calculus of free trade. That is why farmers are committing suicide in thousands in India, and animals are being killed in thousands in the UK.

Third, the same agencies that refuse to act in the public interest on issues of food safety related to GMOs are willing to cull farm animals infected by a non-fatal disease. These are double standards. On the basis of the precautionary principle, the UK government should ban GMOs instead of killing harmless animals if it is concerned about safety of food and agriculture."---Dr Vandana Shiva

5. Corporate "food safety" bills include "traceability" requirements using electronic surveillance which infuriate farmers because they makes no ostensible economic sense.

"USDA Listening Sessions on their attempts at a National Animal ID and Tracking System have been packed with vocal opponents to this Orwellian plan. In city after city, the NAIS has been roundly condemned by those farmers and ranchers and even consumers who will ultimately pay the price for an ill-conceived boondoggle. With America struggling for economic recovery, why does our government try to implement an expensive plan that will hurt our domestic economy and drive meat prices up?"

But such a traceability system does makes economic sense for Agribusiness. It makes it possible for the US government to locate every single US farm animal and use military force in order to slaughter them on behalf of Agribusiness, farmers's corporate competitors. Such an absolute agricultural "monopoly" is hard to fathom. Hidden under a disease justification, this radically new farming "monopoly" is accomplished through animal assassination.

6. The USDA is supportive of research into genetically engineered allegedly "FMD-resistant" animals. Such GE-"FMD-resistant" animals are worthless to those investing in them without

a). an FMD outbreak in the US and

b). if normal animals are still available (alive).

6. The USDA would be causing the destruction of a central part of the US food supply (with BP having destroyed seafood) while the government says it is concerned about shortages.

7. The USDA would end sustainable agriculture for which animals are crucial.

The public reacts strongly against animal abuse.

How would the public feel about the mass slaughter of millions of innocent animals, set off on purpose by the government, entailing the end of sustainable agriculture and the absolute corporate control of the US food supply, with corporate "ownership" of all farm animals, for then limitless corporate profit, and for the life and death corporate power this would mean over this nation?

This is something beyond animal abuse. Is it animal genocide?

The impact is something far beyond competition, far beyond monopoly, far beyond corruption.

What would one call it?

Everyone cares about farm animals. And farm animals are inseparable from farming and ranching.

Through our shared and deep love of animals, this country can come together to save farm animals from the corporations, thus saving US farming, and our country.

It seems, then, that our gentle farm animals are not just central to farming, but are central to our very democracy.

What is needed:

1. A No Slaughter policy for animal outbreaks with decisions made on a case by case basis by farmers and their veterinarians.

2. Exposing the reality that FMD as not dangerous at all to people and a minor disease in animals.

3. The removal of DHS and the military from any power over the US food supply.

4. Rejection of corporate-driven electronic "traceability" which make it possible to locate every singe farm animal for slaughter.

4. Exposure of how avian flu outbreak (caused by the big poultry companies) was used by agribusiness to wipe out small farmers' diverse stocks of poultry across Asia and how genetically engineered chickens were substituted.

5. Exposure of the USDA collusion with biotech corporations on genetically engineered patented animals, animals which have no value if normal animals are still alive.

6. Alerting the environmental, anti-global warming, anti-GMO movement to take note, since extermination of millions of farm animals means agribusiness, pesticides, antibiotics, hormones, oil-based fertilizers, and genetic engineering take over.

7. Stopping S 510 and any other food safety bill, which are corporate bills arranging the take over of the US food supply and thus, our nation.

Obama, our children and the big lie

There is no question that Obama lied to his supporters in promising to undo Bush's worse actions - around war, around torture, around rendition, around civilian trials for detainees. He has furthered them, making many significantly more threatening.

Those Obama actions are within the overt political realm.

But in another area, equally political though not thought of as such, Obama has not only lied but set up multiple charades to disguise what he is doing - something considerably more dangerous to this country than the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and a direct threat to the lives of all American children.

Obama has been arranging for the complete domination of genetically engineered food in farming and American food.

Obama is doing so against a background of these stark facts:

1. In the tens years since the introduction of Monsanto's GE-corn in 1996, there has been a "coincidental" epidemic rise in diabetes of 90% overall and more than 2.7 million adolescents are at risk of developing type II diabetes This dovetails with studies showing organ failure in test animals forced to eat GE-corn. (Sterility is also linked to GE-corn.)

Type 2 diabetes, traditionally referred to as adult-onset diabetes, has been linked to overweight and obese adults, but until recently was unknown in children.

"We're going to see reports like this in the next 10 years over and over and over again because of the way we've changed our lifestyle," said Dr. Irl Hirsch, an endocrinologist and UW professor of medicine. "If you looked at diabetes camps 20 years ago, you would never see a child with type 2 diabetes." ...

Diabetes can be a debilitating and deadly disease, with complications including blindness, heart disease and kidney failure.

Pediatrician Jane Lynch of the Texas Diabetes Institute refers to the "very scary, very alarming" epidemic of type 2 diabetes in children, and suggests

" ... the nationwide trend toward more high-fat food and less high-activity play has run smack into a genetic predisposition for diabetes in some communities, especially those with large Latino populations ... "We have close to 300 children we follow with type 2 diabetes," some as young as 7, Lynch says. "When I trained in the early '90s, it was essentially unheard of."

Lynch may be unaware that the first genetic engineering of food in human history began in the mid-90s, radically altering in one of the most basic foods in the US diet, corn. While Clarence Thomas, previously a Monsanto lawyer, ruled that GMOs were the same as normal organisms, rats (geese, deer and other animals) have begged to differ and will not eat GE-corn, nor will farm animals if left any other food source.

In speaking of the genetics of Latinos, she misses that this dramatically and genetically altered corn is a central food for Latinos. In addition, high fructose corn syrup, already associated with obesity and diabetes, began to be made from genetically engineered corn, itself linked to diabetes, after the mid 1990s.

And those pushing HFCS (the corn refiners and Monsanto?) suggest that something other than HFCS is responsible for the rise in obesity and diabetes.

In any case, now that HFCS sales are declining and Monsanto can no longer depend on "its" corn as the dominant sweetener (increasingly in everything), it wants to genetically engineer sugar beets (that is, to patent and "own" sugar beets).

2. With GE-soy, a study out of Russian is showing complete sterility by the third generation of animals and hair growing in their mouths.

3. Studies show that the pesticides accompanying genetically engineered seeds cause birth defects, still births, cancers, and more (and the pesticide run-off from those crops lead to birth defects, mutations, and death in animals).

Obama has used Michelle Obama in PR stunt after PR stunt to give the impression that his administration is interested in organic farming and in healthier food for obviously increasingly sick American children. But as Michelle Obama planted her much ballyhooed organic garden, Obama was appointing Monsanto executives or cronies to every governmental position possible over food and farming - the USDA, the FDA, the USAID, and trade positions. As Michelle Obama has been touring the country pushing the Farm to School program as an ostensible help in getting safer farm food to our children, the reality is that the program is not only a corporate-commodity program that will not accomplish what it "sounds" like, but that Obama is working relentlessly and slyly to force genetically engineered farming onto farmers or to get rid of farmers altogether.

Here is how sly Obama has been in trying to insert genetically engineered crops, getting the EPA to threaten financial penalties and fines on traditional farmers if they don't go along.

In addition, the FDA under Monsanto is attempting to create an unconstitutional legal standard that would deny parents the right to choose the food they believe is best for their children and asserts that children (or adults) have no fundamental right to their bodily or physical health or that Americans have a right to contract freely (including to get the food they wish).

Obama and the FDA under Monsanto are attempting to ban the labeling of all GMOs worldwide, which would ensure people cannot know what seeds they are planting or what food they are buying, but also would mean scientists would not be allowed to refer to GMOs in the results of any studies on them, and that doctors could not know what is in vaccines they give to children (or others).

Obama favors the food safety bills in Congress which were designed by Monsanto, and would be run by Monsanto with Michael Taylor as "the Administrator." One of the bills, HR 875, expected to be folded into the main one, includes a civil and criminal penalty section that leaves one stunned by the extremity of it. it would set up Monsanto to rule over every person in the country (the bills cover all who "hold" food) with unlimited (and unspecified "remedies") and with no judicial review. As Shawn Buckley describes a similar corporate attack in Canada, it is the end of the rule of law.

S 510 is the corporations "food bailout," equally corrupt, equally massive and robbing, but far more dangerous because as the Cree saying goes,

Only when the last tree has died,
and the last river poisoned,
will we realize that we cannot eat money.

Obama has lied about his position on the single most important thing affecting our children's health - the food they eat - while doing all in his power to introduce food that has been shown to cause organ damage, sterility, birth defects, still births and cancers in animals, and is linked to diabetes.

Our children are sicker than any generation of children in human history. And genetically engineered food is new in human history.

David Douglass, a concerned physician, comments that

"... a quarter of all U.S. kids with insurance are taking at least one drug, and 30 percent of kids between 10 and 19 years old are already on meds for chronic conditions. ...

"Overall, kids are the fastest-growing demographic for the drug companies, with sales rising four times faster than in the overall general population. We've got the sickest, fattest kids in history ....

"Just look at diabetes. You might remember how we used to call type 2 diabetes "adult-onset diabetes." There's a reason that term has fallen out of favor — and you can see it right there in Medco's report, which finds that the number of kids on meds for the condition has risen by 150 percent since 2001. ....

"There's also been a 147 percent leap in heartburn meds and PPIs, a 50 percent increase in cholesterol meds, and a 24 percent rise in blood pressure drugs — all in children. And I haven't even touched on the huge leaps in everything from antipsychotics to asthma meds.

"Even Medco's boss calls the increase "shocking," and this is from a man who sells those drugs for a living.

But what's really shocking is that kids are on these meds at all — because every single one of those diseases and conditions can be fixed through lifestyle changes, starting with a better diet.

But it is exactly diet that Obama is destroying, while his FDA under Monsanto's Taylor is doing all it can to prevent the release of nutritional studies.

Obama claimed he would bring transparency to government. This has proved a lie. The country knows he is blocking political information but the public is only now realizing he is trying to remove freedom of speech itself around science (nutrition and GMOs), both needed for human survival.

Obama, well funded by the pharmaceutical industry, appears to be operating by the Laws of Pharma, in which "... the maintenance and expansion of diseases is a precondition for the financial growth of this industry."

"... prevention and root cause treatment of diseases decrease long-term profitability; therefore, they are avoided or even obstructed by this industry.

"... The eradication of diseases now considered as potential drug markets will destroy billions of investment dollars and eventually will eliminate this entire industry.

"Vitamins and other effective natural health therapies that optimize cellular metabolism threaten the pharmaceutical "business with disease" because they target the cellular cause of today's most common diseases - and these natural substances cannot be patented.

Obama and the FDA under Monsanto has been:

(1) Withholding life-saving health information from millions of people. ....

(2) Discrediting natural health therapies ... through global PR campaigns organized by the Pharma-Cartel that spread lies about the alleged side effects of natural substances – molecules that have been used by Nature for millennia.

(3) Banning by law the dissemination of information about natural health therapies. To that end, the pharmaceutical industry has placed its lobbyists in key political positions in key markets and leading drug export nations.

Obama, working on behalf of Monsanto and with heavy funding from the drugs companies, is promoting the sickness and sterility of America's children (and adults) through toxic food while working to put safe food out of reach.

An entire country is being poisoned by multiple means, by their own president.

This effort to eliminate normal, non-genetically engineered food and eliminate access to food people trust as safe for themselves and their children, moves food from an arena of health to one of political power over a population and control over the country's entire food supply.

This exceeds in threat the recognized political issues of torture or rendition because this threat to food applies to millions and is about life and death, however more slow in its effects. Substitute the idea of a president arranging the forced exposure of an entire population to low level radiation - which also cause sickness, sterility, and cancers over time - to realize how ultimately deadly and thus how politically significant Obama's threat to food.

Those who have not considered food a political issue but tended to relegate it to a health issue might read about the Kissinger Plan in which control of food is seen as the means of taking political control of countries, without an army.

Obama's one-time supporters have begun to recognize that they voted in a man who has lied to them on every political issue that mattered to them. But they have not yet fully recognized the political implications of what he is doing to food.

That may be Obama's largest lie of all.

While putting Michelle Obama through one deceitful "act" after another to imply interest in organic and healthy farm food and in American children's well-being ,Obama is literally poisoning the American people and its children through forcing genetically engineering food on them unlabeled, forcing GE-seeds and pesticides on farmers, attempting to remove all rights to seek normal food, and at a time when diet is killing our children, to remove freedom of speech to publish nutritional information.

Through S 510, a "food safety" bill, Obama is doing much more.

He is providing the corporations with a far bigger "steal" than the multinationals which outsourced US jobs under NAFTA and international bankers who savaged our economy. S 510 offers total control of the US. It does so through giving power over what everyone needs to survive - food - to the corporations.

This means truly incalculable profits in the hands of any corporations.

At the front end, agribusiness makes a fortune on mandated products (GMOs, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, etc.). At the back end, the pharmaceutical and medical industry is already reaping profits from the ongoing degrading of food and sickening of our whole population and that would only increase. Agribusiness, the biotech, food and the pharmaceutical industry are all behind this bill, waiting for a gift so large, only madmen could dream of it.

For the bill would allow them to shut off access to all food, creating shortages at will, to wrench profits from frightened, even starving people.

Control of all food means the population's desperation for health and its very life would obviate the need for any more marketing and end all complaints about the dangers from food. People would be literally begging for any food at all and for drugs, and would pay any price. The corporations could use this as well to bring down governments.

The bailout and wrecking of the world economy would look miniscule by comparison.

But S 510 offers one thing even worse. It provides for a corporate court over all people in the US, run by Monsanto, minus all judicial review. That is, Monsanto would be in control of the country's people and their assets, to do with as they wish.

There is a saying that "the devil is in the details." In this case, that is literally true.

Obama has constructed the big lie.

Monsanto is at the heart of it.

Our freedom and our children's lives are the intended victims.

Obama's Manure: Millions to ADM / Financial Penalties To Amish ... Unless They Plant GMOs

Obama gives ADM millions to capture carbon in projects ADM designed itself.

How much fossil fuel does this company use to produce its industrial products, to run its massive industrial operations, to transport its products around the world, to keep the lights on in PR companies that fight organic farming (which is a solution to global warming), to fly its lobbyists around to end up with such a give away? Doesn't industrial ag contribute 40% to global warming?

ADM gets $99 million for carbon-capture project


DECATUR, Ill. (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Energy will give Archer Daniels
Midland up to $99 million in stimulus funds to help pay for the Decatur-based
agricultural company's second carbon-capture project.

ADM says the money will allow it to begin designing and building the new
demonstration project starting in 2012. The company hopes the project will
capture and store 1 million tons of carbon dioxide a year from ADM's ethanol
plant. ADM plans to spend $43.6 million.

The carbon will be stored in a rock formation beneath ADM's Decatur location
known as the Mount Simon Sandstone.

ADM has a separate carbon-capture project working at its Decatur location
design to store a thousand tons a day for several years. The location will then
be monitored for leaks as a test.

ADM, seeing farming as a fragmented industrial activity, has no idea that clean systems produce clean manure that can be used sustainably as part of normal natural processes. Instead, they create genetically engineered feed for animals, increasing the risk of MSRA and making the feces from industrial animals a health hazard. Then, they're big idea for handling such "carbon" is digging into a mountain, burying it there, and hoping it doesn't leak out. For this corporate idiocy, wrong at every step, Obama gave them millions.

When a farmer does everything right ....

While Mother Nature News calls unwanted regulatory threat "unusual government collaboration," the reality is that the Amish will be subject to rules from desk-sitters at the EPA who will "decide" how to run their beautiful farms. MNN refers to the heaps of manure generated from Amish farms, apparently with no idea it has value and isn't contaminated.

The EPA is walking a fine line between enforcing clean-up practices while maintaining a respectful understanding of the culture. ...

The EPA officials want to communicate the need for agricultural reform before resorting to fines and penalties.

The EPA wants to encourage the Amish to create barnyard runoff controls and streamside forest buffers, and to also adopt no-till farming practices.

[Pause for what was just slipped in there by the EPA. No-till farming practices is code for using GE-seeds and pesticides. "Plant the seeds, blanket spray pesticides, no need to weed." The corporations will employ PR to deny the superweeds. ]

Many of these changes would be underwritten by federal grants ("The money has been lucrative for local agricultural companies ..."), but persuading the Amish to change their farming habits with government money will be difficult.

So Obama, under cover of carbon sequestering, is actually yet again betraying sustainable agriculture by pushing GMOs on the Amish, the epitome of organic farming. This fact is hidden by NY Times and Mother Nature News articles suggesting the EPA is sensitive to the Amish, while in reality forcing them to pay for changes on their farms they may not be able to afford and then threatening them with fines and penalties if they don't betray their own traditions. These regulations are for the sake of Monsanto which Obama serves over and over again (putting them at the FDA, the USDA, USAID, trade, and apparently now, the EPA is working for them, too).

The Amish farm sustainably. Carbon is automatically sequestered in the soil. They don't need "cleaning up." They have been helping to reduce global warming for centuries through everything they do.

Though they have been doing right by the world, they won't be allowed to design projects that harmonize with nature, but will have to pay for changes and then pay fines and penalties if they don't go along with government imposed regulations that do not fit their farms and threaten their families' lives (and others as well) through GM corn now linked to organ failure, and GM soy that causes sterility and hair to grow in the mouth. That is in addition to still borns, birth defects, sterility, and cancers from pesticides.

Easy to see now why farmers are opposed to the Clean Air Act or Cap and Trade.

Cap farmers and give more Trade to the corporations.

The corporate fix is in with these bills and the money keeps rolling in from government. The corporations are writing the government regulations that are surreptitiously mandating their dangerous corporate products which the public rejects, using sustainable-sounding terms like "no till."

Amish farmers are being targeted for doing right for generations and now will be financially punished for trying to continue to be good stewards of God's gift of nature.

Is Monsanto's claim to own GE-meat (because the animals from which it came ate their GE-feed) part of a larger plan to move the world away from meat from animals raised on pastures to GE-meat from laboratory flasks?

If so, is Monsanto replicating with animals what it did with seeds, shifting the main source of grains away from seeds grown in fields to their own patented GE-seeds grown in laboratories by removing normal seeds?

Does Monsanto envision meat that will no longer come from cattle raised by ranchers or from chickens raised by farmers but only from their own corporate labs?

As bizarre and revolting as that sounds, to reach such extreme monopoly, wouldn't a horrific step have to occur - the mass elimination of real farm animals?

Monsanto's seed monopoly required eliminating normal seed. Now for Monsanto or other biotech companies to "own" meat, wouldn't they need to eliminate normal animals?

Monsanto and other biotech companies bought up seed companies and watched (and/or assisted) remaining seeds be destroyed by GMO contamination or from lack of use (achieved through various means including removal of seed cleaners and control of seed laws), but farm animals cannot be taken away through purchase of companies, do not cease being productive after a few years of disuse, and cannot become contaminated from proximity to GE-animals.

Monsanto sought a monopoly over seeds. Is it significant now that they are not claiming a monopoly over animals and appear uninterested in living animals but are focused instead only on genetically engineered meat?

They claim to it is based on GE-meat having being affected by their GE-feed.

In a market place of two kinds of meat, one real and one genetically engineered, meat from animals would be severe competition to meat invented and produced in labs. This would especially be true of grass fed animals which do not eat GE-feed and thus provide not only real but pure meat uncontaminated by GE-corn or soy and any pesticides and antibiotics involved.

Such GE-meat would remain only a mad scientist's nightmare concoction and not the centerpiece of a total monopoly over one of the most critical foods in the world, if it were rejected by a disgusted public. To prevent that, the public must be tricked and/or trapped into consuming it in two ways, by keeping it unlabeled and by removing all other sources of meat.

Monsanto is working right now on stopping labeling of all genetically engineered food. Currently, through the FDA offices to which Obama appointed Monsanto executive Michael Taylor, Monsanto and the Obama administration is pushing for Codex to impose a worldwide ban of all labeling of GMOs. Such a ban would apply to genetically engineered meat and people would not be allowed to know what it was and where it came from.

For normal sources of meat to be removed, as many farm animals as possible would have to be killed.

But how would one manage to kill millions upon millions of animals?

S 510, apparently designed by Monsanto, sets up the intricacies of that slaughter. It includes a now mistrusted CDC to declare diseases and Homeland Security to carry out mass disposal and NAIS (RFID animal ID) could be used to make sure no farm animal of any kind can be hidden. Monsanto gained its patenting power through GHW Bush who appointed Clarence Thomas, a Monsanto lawyer, to the Supreme Court. He ruled that GMOs were the same of other organisms and voted as well for an extreme extension of patent law to living organisms.

Under GW Bush, US science agencies were seriously undermined. And it was also GW Bush who set up Homeland Security and Pandemic Preparedness. The former provides the means to eliminate animals and the latter provides the justification (a declaration of a pandemic, not dependent on proof of evidence). The WHO which declares pandemics internationally is under investigation now for the H1N1 pandemic, suspected of being manufactured by the pharmaceutical industry, which itself is closely tied to the Bush family and which controls the WHO. In the event of a pandemic (whether real or not), the OIE can call for mass animal slaughter which would include even vaccinated and healthy animals, though such stamping out is thought to actually spread disease.

During the Bush Administration, a scenario of animal diseases being used to justify the slaughter millions of animals occurred in Asia. Members of the Bush administration closely tied to the pharmaceutical industry profited.

These corporations are voraciously patenting the earth's life forms-its plants, bacteria, viruses, animals and even human genetic lineages. Why is the USDA not following the science and its own obligation and threatening the country with FMD? Why are cattlemen left to appeal to Congress to stop the USDA's actions?

Why is the USDA working actively and aggressively against best interests of US cattlemen and farmers, and threatening the lives of millions of American animals, when FMD is not a terrible disease?

"FMD is not a fatal disease under normal classification methods. It is akin to flu in humans... yes, people can die from it but usually only the weak, elderly and undernourished. In other words those people whose immune systems are low. Simplistically, the same applies to FMD... those animals with very weak immune systems may die.
